  Legal Firm Faces Age-Bias Lawsuit

One of the nation's largest law firms is facing an age-discrimination lawsuit. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is accusing the Chicago-based firm of Sidley, Austin, Brown and Wood of demoting and pushing out older partners in violation of federal law.

Definition:
To overthrow; vacate; to annul or void a summons, indictment, bindover order or subpoena.

Moral turpitude

Definition:
Conduct contrary to honesty or good morals.

Conditional release

Definition:
A release from custody, which imposes regulations on the activities and associations of the defendant. If a defendant fails to meet the conditions, the release is revoked.
